Avoid scams: When you’re safe, you’re even more beautiful!

FAKE ADVERTISING AND PAGES

Mother’s Day is coming and Andreia has the habit of giving a Floratta perfume as a gift to their mother! To their surprise, they received an email, supposedly from O Boticário, informing them of a special Mother’s Day promotion, asking them to click a link and provide some data to be provide some data to take part in such promotion. However, to  access the link, they need to fill out a questionnaire with personal data, as their Social Security number, email, address and date of birth.

Viewing the amount of  information requested, Andréia wonders: – Why are they requesting  this information that is already in their register of the store or the e-Commerce? When in doubt, Andréia thought it best not to fill out the form and asked a colleague if they’d learned of any promotional action.

THE ANSWER: the site is fake!
But how could she identify the scam?

Be wary of random approaches via email or SMS. Always question: did this message really come from GB?

Always check our official channels. If we are giving free gifts or with some incredible promotion, we will officially communicate it.

Be attentive to use of our logos, possible typos or  emails with senders other than the official channels.

When in doubt, do as Andréia: do not provide any  information and do not click on any suspicious link. IT CAN BE A SCAM!

The fake employee scam

Marcos has been a Reseller of O Boticário for many years, having a good customer base. However, on a beautiful day, they received a call from an alleged manager of O Boticário informing that a problem occurred in the system of Resellers and Marcos would need to reset their password, then forwarded a link for Marcos to access.

Fortunately Marcos was already so used to working in the Reseller App that they didn’t even click on the link provided in the message. They turned off his phone and changed the password directly on the app. Marcos, we’re glad you have this habit, because you prevented fraudsters from stealing your Reseller’s account!

habits that can avoid scams:

Be wary of random approaches, even over the phone. Fraudsters are true actors and might deceive many people.

The person who contacted you is the one who needs to identify themselves, not the other way around. Do not provide information, because whoever is calling should already have it.

When in doubt, directly access our official app, such as BelezaNaWeb
or the E-commerce of O Boticário,
instead of clicking on message links.

Fake Gift/Giveaway Scam

Silvia was working from home when she was surprised by an unexpected package delivered by a courier. When asked, the courier told her it was a gift (or a giveaway in some cases) but he didn’t know who the sender was. The courier advised her that he could only complete the order if he could take a picture of Silvia as proof of delivery, or if she paid a “delivery fee.”

Silvia became suspicious and, unsure, decided not to receive the package, since asking the recipient for a photo or a delivery fee is unusual. Silvia didn’t know it yet, but she just avoided two scams: her biometric data would be collected for illegal use, and the card machine was rigged!

HERE’S HOW TO ESCAPE THE SCAM,
JUST LIKE SILVIA DID:

No delivery related to the brands of Grupo Boticário makes charges at the delivery. All fees are paid at the time of purchase by those who purchased the gift.

If you notice that you have fallen for any scam, immediately contact your credit card company to inform the scam and recover the amount charged. Do not forget to request your card blockage, as your data may have been cloned by a fraudulent card machine.

THE ONE GIVING THE GIFT HAS TO PAY FOR ITS ENTIRETY, NOT THE ONE WHO RECEIVES IT!

Scam Quiz

Jonas was on social media when he saw an ad for a promotion: answer a quiz and win several products, just pay for shipping. He found it strange because the brand’s official social media pages didn’t mention the quiz, so he decided not to fall for it!

Jonas made the right choice! We don’t run promotions such as the one mentioned. It’s a scam carried out by malicious people who want to profit from the shipping fees, and Jonas would be left with no products at all!

DON’T FALL FOR THE SCAM QUIZ

Be suspicious of any social media promotion not available on official pages.

Be mindful of websites that try to imitate the websites of Grupo Boticário brands.

Received this type of ad? Report it on social media and don’t share it to prevent others from falling victim!

BEWARE OF TOO-GOOD-TO-BE-TRUE PROMOTIONS!
